Side hustles, minus the fog
Find the side hustle that fits your actual life — then see what it really pays.
Two tools, in the order that matters. The Fit Finder cuts the hundred-list down to the few hustles your hours, car, cash, body, and day job actually allow — and shows you every cut. The Real Pay Checker then prices each survivor honestly: platform fees, car costs at the IRS rate, dead time, and the tax set-aside, all in one number.
The paid pack
The Fit & Real Pay Pack
Everything the free tools compute, in printable form you keep: your filled Fit Finder report, the Real Pay audit workbook with the dated fee tables for all 18 hustles, a first-week plan for every hustle, the tax starter pack, and the employer-check pack. One payment of $39. The tools stay free and complete either way — the Pack is the same work, on paper, for the kitchen table.
Why the order matters
1 · Fit first
A hustle you cannot run is not an opportunity; it is a distraction with a signup page. Fit is decided by hard facts — a car, a calendar, a handbook clause — so this site asks those first and eliminates in the open, with the reason printed next to every cut.
2 · Then real pay
Platforms publish gross. Your life runs on net. The checker rebuilds each hustle's published fee schedule line by line, counts the unpaid hours everyone forgets, prices your car the way the IRS does, and attaches the tax panel to every single result.
The census, honestly
This site computes 18 hustles, in two grades it prints on every page. 12 are fully computable — their platforms publish complete fee schedules, so the engine rebuilds your net from the schedule itself. 6 are marked PARTIAL — gig apps that publish a pay model but never what a driver nets in your city. Those run on your logged numbers, with labeled national bands (Gridwise 2025) as a sanity rail. No per-city dataset is printed anywhere, because no truthful one exists. Anything that cannot be computed — dropshipping empires, penny-survey apps, crypto schemes — lives only on the Legit-or-Trap shelf, as an exhibit.
Doors by day job
Your job is not background — it is the first constraint. Three doors carry their own employer cards and spotlights. Student and teen doors do not exist here: the honest answer for minors and visa-holders is a pointer, not a product.
For nurses
In one widely circulated US survey, four in five nurses reported a side hustle, nearly half started within the last three years.
With a full-time job
The search itself says it: people with full-time jobs append the word 'realistic' to this topic.

Already paid for one of these? That's a different problem — the GuruEscape shelf is being built for exactly that. This shelf stays on the near side of the purchase.
The tax part nobody puts on the poster
Side-hustle income is taxed even when no form arrives: self-employment tax (15.3% on 92.35% of profit) starts at $400 of profit, quarterly estimates have four dates, and your day job's bracket — not a flat beginner rate — decides what your hustle income stacks at.
Every Real Pay result carries the tax panel. The tax door carries the whole picture: the $400 threshold, the mileage rows (72.5¢ for Jan–Jun 2026, 76¢ for Jul–Dec 2026), and the set-aside habit that makes April boring.
